She went away and returned with a small tribute to Maurice, made by a woman called Jane Ryan. ( http://www.opiworks.co.uk/index.asp) We like it. Jane can do pieces made to order that look like any cat you want.
She is going to aske the woman to make a piece with all 9 cats from her life in it. Some will have wings and halos. Sometimes when She thinks no one is watching we see Her crying small bright tears for Maurice.
I've noticed that The Ginger Darlings have had very little to say, since Maurice's parting. I think that's quite understandable. It does hurt for such a long time. But, by and by, the daily thoughts of the beloved become less painful. And then one starts to enjoy them, though there is always that bit of heartache that comes with them. May the time pass kindly for Her.
It was absolutley wonderful to browse through your blog again - somehow I dropped off the regular viewing list but I am back! Your books look so interesting and beautifully illustrated.I am going to try and get my sister in Enlgand to get hold of some for Christmas gifts.
Caroline, not sure where you are but She says that all her books are available in USA and Canada and in France, Norway, Sweden, Spain and some other places too. HAve a look on Amazon or better still talk to your nearest independent bookstore and library. Oh, and they are all in Oz too and NZ.
A truly delightful distraction to my day, love the automoton or sculpture not sure what to call it. Thanks for the glimpse of your studio and beautiful owl, love cats (mine's Siamese) and thanks for youtbe links.
When first we started there were four of us, all ginger, and Max. Time has passed. The ginger pride are ghost cats, appart from Elmo. Now the house holds Max, oldest, tabby farm cat, dark, usually found sleeping on a cushion, Elmo, last of the Gingers, beautiful handsome and wonderful who still walks to the high hill top. And now there is Baggage and Bundle, silver mischief in sharp clawed kitten form. The adventures continue.

Charming! I love my cats, too, and I love this small tribute to Maurice. What a lovely piece it is.
It has been a bit over a month since Feather passed and I still cry for her.
