We have made too many people cry this week, and now She is looking through photos on the computer. It seems that there was once a crooked man, who walked a crooked mile and found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile. He bought a crooked cat, who caught a crooked mouse and they all lived together in a little crooked house. And She is doing a book of nursery rhymes. And Kiffer was the perfect crooked cat. If anyone could catch a crooked mouse he could.

Legend has it that the "crooked stile" is supposed to be the border between England and Scotland.
That's an uncannily realistic dragon hatchling! Especially curled so protectively in ginger fur!
Perfect!

I can imagine Kiffer still running a crooked mile, and in younger times when he was not so crooked, running a lot longer...
What a beautiful memory.
I hope that the Morrises and The Pride are all bearing up during this distressing time. We'll all miss dear old KifferCat and his unique sideways view of the world. Thanks for the lovely picture(s) of him. Take care all xxxx
Kiffer, with his permanently kinked neck, will be a perfect "crooked cat."
What a lovely picture! I've nicked this one as well and now the dragon hatching Ginger Cat is beautifying my work computer.
The Lair Cats don't hatch dragons, they merely hides them - and chews upon them if not prevented.
I remember that rhyme...or something quite similar. I learned it from my mother who in turn learned it from her Welsh grandmother.
The 'Crooked Man' happens to be one of my son's favorite traditional nursery rhymes - at the age of twenty two and with severe cerebral palsy he is the Crooked Man...
but his tortoiseshell cat is far from being 'crooked' too!
happily anticipating the nursery rhyme book....
