The wishing song of falling stars.

Even though the sky is a sea of clouds with islands of stars clear between, even though the beam from Strumble Head lighthouse sweeps a warning for miles across the sky, still it is possible to see the stars falling. And all day, although sunlight obscured the view, still the shower fell, a rain of stars and we slept, curled in warm places, dreaming to the song of the fallen ones.

Here the icicles have dripped in afternoon sun, but the favored places for cats are in a cat-pile on the bed or stretched on a south-facing windowsill until the light retreats behind the mountains and the curtains are drawn.
Lucky cats who can watch the starfall from a warm place by the fire.

So beautiful.
In a recent post at my blog there are marvelous timelapse shots of shooting stars and the Milky Way.....and my reply in comments describing a poem I wrote to a favorite cat after she died, comparing her to a shooting star.
