Elmo:
This is a house of ginger.
So there we were, in the kitchen, waiting for food, circling like sharks, and there She is, chatting away. Pixie has been ill and She has been shoving those pill things down her. After the pill thing The Pixie gets a sort of small bottle of milk, and she lies in Her arms like a baby, paws round the bottle and laps her pink tongue on the cool, white, beautiful milk.
So, I'm watching and She scoops up a cat, and it wriggles and squirms and She think, oh, Pixie is much better, and she gets this pill and shoves it down the cats throat, and the cat looks cross. Very cross, but nothing compared to when She tips it over onto its back like a baby and tries to feed it milk from a bottle. All hell breaks loose. Bottle and cat go flying and words a cat should never utter turn the air as blue as Rosie's paws.
Now if that had been me I would have been quiet until I had got the milk, but Maurice is Maurice.
She looked down, and there was Pixie, and the rest of us. What are you doing? All eyes accusing. People often say "How can you tell them apart?"
"It's obvious when you know them and love them," She says.
"****************!!!!!" to that," says Maurice!
I would like to report that Pixie is seeming much better. She has to take her to see the vet again, just to be sure, but there is no green slime that so upsets a cat, few sneezes and no wheezes. Pixie says many thanks for all the good wishes. She is a polite cat. Much more polite than Maurice!

So glad Pixie is better Jac, fantastic news! She must be such a good, gentle cat to allow you to give her pills - We have to take all ours to the vet; he has shown me how to do injections, which is much less stressful, for us and the cats! I think they're more expensive though :(
Indeed, Maurice is Maurice!! Glad to know Pixiecat is a lot better... possibly more after the entertainment of watching Maurice be bottle fed very briefly!
Hurrah for Pixie's recovery!! Long may she live. I am an avid fan of your ginger brigade and their walks and observations...
Ms Soup
Bailey would do just what Maurice did. He is much too sophisticated and proud to be coddled never mind cuddled! (But he's not too sophisticated to have his tummy scratched and then he looks most unsophisticated.)
Thank you for sharing this story, Elmo. It made me laugh out loud!
Also glad to hear Pixie's recovery continues.
:) that is too funny !! your poor mom--maybe she needs more coffee in the am?:) glad all of your companions are feeling good. dosing the felines in this house is downright ugly.
We laughed and laughed! what a great case of mistaken identity! so very glad to hear that Pixie doesn't have any more green snot and is well on her way to recovery. Yay!
Thank heaven Pixie is mending!
Hahahhahah.... poor Maurice.... the indignity of it all....LOL>...... that WAS funny.....
The best laugh I've had all week - truly, giving a pill to a cat that doesn't want it can be challenging! Been there and done that!
Glad Pixie is so much better and may the pill Maurice got prevent him from ever getting ill!
Cheers!

You have all made me laugh and smile... what a "cat... astrophe"!
LOL! >.<
I'm glad Pixie is getting better! :D
Ees berbery fonnee!!!!! Maurice the keetteen weeth bardle!
So happy miss pix is on the mend. Hilarous story really made me laugh. Thanks!
"I am the only one who can pick Maurice up. He is very much MY cat"
Didn't you write something like that, not so long ago, Jackie? The cats haven't read this yet, but they will no doubt see it in a different light. Me? I laughed til my eyes leaked. Poor Maurice!
(But it's good that Pixie's improving.)
I could never tell who was who except Elmo, Kiffer and, of course, Max. Between Maurice, Martha and Pixie- I am always in a quandary. Nice to see I am not alone.
I guess you can think of it like my Grandmother, after having 6 children and 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren...we learned to answer to any name she called. Male or female.
It must have been dark in the kichen. Maybe foggy....
So glad to hear Pixie is on the mend.

Ah, know that one very well, Jackie! With three black cats - I'm glad it's not just me. Charmingly told, Elmo. Maggie x
