Flossie really looks like she'd like a spot by the fire, too, but feline seniority rules! I suppose Martha will move from there to her spot on top of the mantle.
Painting is by Her and it is very big, and we were worried that it might fall off the wall and squash us. And there are no cats in it so it is not very interesting really. But there are more paintings by Her at Her website at http://www.jackiemorris.co.uk There is a hare in this one, which is like a cat, with long ears, and lots of birds like the ones outside the windows.
Martha's elderly cat bones need to be kept warm. I'm not sure if it is the intention of my cats to warm me at night with their cuddling--maybe they are just making themselves comfortable. I have one called "Mrs. Beasley" who snores and is quite large--not the best bedmate, but I hate to discourage her.
It is amazing...one little cat body can absorb all the heat from a fire, allowing none to pass into room and siblings!
ReplyDeleteI have a heat hog in my house too :-). I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteInside hogging the fire is a great place to be!

ReplyDeleteThat is surely the best place when it is cold and windy outside.
ReplyDeleteLove the large picture on the wall!
hehe, that must be nice and toasty.
