Pixie, the smallest cat

Worried because Pixiecat was still not eating She phoned the vet today and Kath was lovely enough to fit in an extra evening appointment. Pleased with Pixiecats progress Kath gave special food for Pixie. It seems her mouth is filled with sores and her tongue is covered with ulcers, so she has to be fed with a syringe. But Pixie is over the worst with the flu and If only She was a better nurse and would stop painting and just sit and read to Pixie and feed her when she needs food then all will be well.
Meanwhile Bella, brave kind Bella, is looking after Pixie, making sure she is clean and knows that she is loved.

And Bella is teaching Rosie how to care for cats.

Meanwhile Martha, the old one, lies stretched over the fire in the warmest place and dreams of Lion, a far away cat of great age.

  3. Lion says she is happy to hear that sweet Pixie is doing better and that Bella has been her nurse. Pixie is fortunate to have such a friend.
    Take care little one.

  5. Oh my goodness. Poor Pixie, and sweet Bella. What lovely, lovely pictures. This might make Estorbo re-think his inflexible position on d.a.r.g.s

  6. Thank goodness Pixie is on the mend, but how terrible that her poor little mouth is so sore. Surely the loving care of Bella and Rosie will help speed her recovery. Such sweet photos of them together! Hope this nasty flu vanishes so all your cats and dogs will be healthy for a long, long time.

  8. I am impressed with Bella's care of Pixiecat. The only dogs I have known were not nice creatures but enjoyed chasing and nipping my heals. My mates and I will pray for the healing of Pixiecat so she can once again eat normally and enjoy the catly ways.

  10. Poor Pixiecat, to have to be fed with a syringe... especially when it's a reminder of the v.e.t. Still at least Mama Bella is doing some quality nursing of the little one... and Rosie is helping.

Hope Pixie is better soon... at least she doesn't have the flu any more.

Lovely picture of Martha too. That's one wise old cat.

  11. Poor Pixie, this is the nastiest type of flu to have had. I am glad she is over the worst. Bella and Rosie are very good nurses and Martha is a very good dreaming cat.

  14. Ah what a wonderful tender nurse Bella is! (And quite obvious that she's teaching Rosie what to do!)I'm so sorry about Pixie's mouth...sounds like one of those nasty herpes viruses. I hope all the sores and ulcers heal soon so that she will feel like eating. And i hope she's a good patient and permits herself to be fed broth and good soft food by syringe. Purrs and hugs from all of us here.
