A long time

Maurice. "Has anyone seen the dogs? Come to think of it has anyone seen Her?"
Pixie. " I saw Her packing that big bag just the other day. It's cold here."
Elmo. " Either She has gone for a very long walk with the dogs, or She has gone away again. Hope She brings a present back this time."
Maurice. " When She gets back lets pretend we don't know Her."
Pixie. " I can't even remember what She looks like."

  3. It is OK. She will returned. I know I have been cold and lonely too the last few days. A good trick to try is taking every rolled paper product in the house, and shredding it into wee pieces. Very nice effect indeed.

  4. Dear Cats
I am sorry that I left without saying goodbye. It was partly because I was a bit scared and partly because you all behaved so badly last time that I thought you might not notice that I had gone. I will be home tomorrow and promise to light a fire. Please do not hang up mouse entrails to welcome me home. Cats like it, humans find it a bit repelant. If you could try and tidy up a bit if you have had a party that would be great.
I have been a long way away and I have missed you.

ps I had a review in the New York Times for The Snow Leopard, and no, you can't shred that or have it in the bottom of your litter tray!

  5. You know, that ignoring Her thing didn't work the last time you guys tried it, so what makes you think it'll work this time? And if it makes you feel any better, it never works at our house either.

  8. We missed her so I'm sure you did too! But I bet she feels guilty every time she thinks of you when she is away. So make her feel welcome when she comes back. Give her special loud purrs and meows and maybe roll over for a tummy rub to show her how pleased you are that she's back.

  9. Why don't you try sitting on her lap and purring nicely instead, to see if that will stop Her from wandering off?
Well done to Her for the New York Times review too!!! WOW!

  10. Rusty wants to tell you that, in the end, after the crunchies have been shared around and you've had ear-tickles and lots of kind words, you can just go for your walks as usual. All will be well.
