Hope.

Half a moon silvers the clouds in an indigo sky. This, and the yellow light from un-curtained windows, is the only colour in the monochrome world of night.
Across the field a fox calls, a dog answers. This, and the soft paw touch o the earth is the only sound in the silence of a windless night.
A star falls.
A wish is made.
Tomorrow is full of hope.

Just lovely! Your world sounds so different from mine! I live in the middle of a city - next to a major highway - lots of light and the only time it's really quite is the middle of the night - but it's never totally dark. I can imagine what it must be like to be surrounded by such darkness and peace. thank you for sharing.

Such meaningful words.... when I walk my beloved companions in the darkness of night, I look at the night sky and gaze at the moon and stars, make a wish and hope...

Hope is a wonderful quality. I hope your house is getting settled and there are warm quiet places for cats and dogs to curl and sleep. And calm places for humans to eat and read and dream and create.

What beautiful, evocative words.

Don't roam out, cats,
When the fox calls:
The night is full of gnashing teeth
And very sleek predators.
He signs for you,
You, his supper.

We care not for what
The fox may call~
Lonely cries in the night
That haunt the fields and hedges

We fear not
The fox nor all
That prowl the night time ways Seeking a supper

For we are cats.
When the sun sinks
The night is ours and all within.
We are the wild, the wild is us.
