Cats do not get jealous....or sulk. I just want to know who is sending her flowers. And why? And what, at the end of the day, is wrong with a nice bunch of mice. She never seems so pleased when I bring Her mice.
I agree, any gift is special. Yesterday my cat Smokey left me a moth nigh-on half as big as herself. Seriously, though I feel safe to hazard that it was of the order of lepidoptera, I would hesitate to guess at its species, its shoe size, nor from what primordial forest it may have issued. I kid you not, it looked like a sugared date with the wings of a sparrow. I think Smokey must have used a shotgun.
I empathize with you on the mouse business. This week I presented the PM with a stunning vole/ deer mouse arrangement on the front walk but only got a dirty look in return.
Does someone (we know who) prefer gifts of flowers to gifts of mice? I agree with someone, although the thought from the dear cat is sweet. It can be seen as a tribute to find a mouse corpse upon doorstep or pillow.
Three cats of perfect gingerness, elegant, feline, sharp clawed and fine. Two brothers we are and a sister, Elmo and Maurice and Pixie. We live with Martha, the Old One, teller of stories and ginger too, and Max who for many years has made his living as an artists model and rat catcher, a fine tabby cat, dark and dangerous. And we share with Kiffer the Pale, strange cat with his head on one side and only six lives left, and Bella, Floss and the show stealing puppy, Rosie. But we are the House of Ginger.

We'll work on the bunches of mice, with perhaps a mole thrown in.
Mom doesn't like lizards, birdies OR dragonflies, either. :sigh:
