Stalking gingers

On the high hill the ginger cows munch coarse grass and golden flowers. We find their wool hanging like ginger washing on the fences where they have scratched themselves against the wire. Huge, woolly and medieval with horns like spears we stalk carefully around them. But they seem like gentle beasts.

Curious to know what we are, the young ones come closer, but we are wary and stalk past like leopards. And the winter sun shines on our dappled coats and makes them shine.

I hope the black hound kept its damp, probing snout to itself.

Of course it did! The ginger cows are far more fragrant.

But the cows were on another outing.

Oh, but black dogs know how to behave.

Hmmm. Not in my world.

The black dog is frightened of us, and frightened of Bella too. And she gets very jealous when Ffion, lovely Ffion picks us up. But Ffion loves the Pixie cat and ever since Pixie was a small kitten she has curled up in Ffion's jumper, and let her carry her when she is walking.
We quite like the black dog even though she chases cats, but not us.

Oh I've missed you, you ginger kitti-cats! But I'm home now and will keep dropping in to see what you're up to. As for that gorgeous thing with the long horns, I can't believe he would hurt you, he has such a sweet face.

But doesn't it make you want to comb their bangs up so they can SEE! That must be the Mom in me, keeping hair out of your eyes.

That photo looks like a surreal parody of the Serengeti. I can just hear David A's voiceover.

"The gingercats stalk by. They will try to single out one of the younger animals. It can take up to a hundred and fifty gingercats to bring down one of these magnificent beasts."
