For some reason the two legs played strange games of squash and squeeze yesterday.First they played "How many birds can Daf fit into a goose?" The answer? A snipe, a woodcock ( She was a bit upset by that until She ate a bit!) a teal, a partiridge and a pheasant.
Next they played "How many dogs can ypou fit into a small cottage and the answer to that was six.
Daf had a long conversation with Max about catching birds and stuffing them into things while Cadog ( the new puppy) cuddled on his lap.
Later we found peace and quiet on the kitchen table, just me and Elmo and Maurice.
Then She went off to sleep in Her studio, dreams guarded by not one but two Bagpusses, like sphinxes, either side of the pillows.
We played a trick on them all! Too many dogs in our house, so we played a game of 'pin the fart on the dog' and they blamed Billy and Floss and then Belle, but really it was Elmo all along!

LOL! Cats rule and dogs drool in our house. Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas.
ReplyDelete:) Phew! Elmo!! I love the innocent look on a cat's face when they do that! Our first cat used to give us a very cross look as if it was one of us!!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed at the sight of the bird near the edge of the table with no cat/dog co-operation at nicking it and heading for cover!! After all, one big bird with two inside... that would do nicely for six dogs and a few cats!
Hope you all have a fabulous new year!
What a great gathering! Love the ""pin the fart on the dog" concept!
ReplyDeleteMy gard. You hab made me so hongree weeth all those bords. Deed you bed a tasde?
ReplyDeleteStormie got a new bigger kitty bed this year (she's such a suckup!). Mommy did not think much of our game of hide the poop behind the curtain, so bro and I are in her bad books. But "Auntie" brought us a squeaky bear -- we haven't quite figured it out yet, though. It makes strange noises at odd moments -- somewhat disconcerting! Our Grandmeowmy and Grandpaw came too and they all had dinner. I noshed on Grandmeowmy's Xmas card from "Auntie" -- so-so as xmas cards go. Purrs, Gobi
ReplyDeleteSolstice and holiday greetings from the SoCal Gingers who are most soggy from all our rains and floods, but are snug and warm and sending great (loving) farts in your general direction.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Gingers!! Glad you are having such fun during the festive season...
ReplyDeleteLovely photos :0)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely New year...
Impressive Elmo, can smell it from here!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to all!
Sandie xx
The new puppy Cadog looks like an English Springer Spaniel...there's one we know through the internet who lives in France with 4 Abyssinian cats, and he's their very best friend and snuggle buddy...looks like Cadog is learning very well how to talk to a cat, and Max looks remarkably patient and unalarmed. Plus we see somebody ginger on the back of the couch, listening in even though his back is turned...Maurice perhaps?
ReplyDeleteYou fun loving cats!! I'm glad you had such a good time for the holiday. Poor dogs.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad ours is not the only house where cats recline on the table.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day of food, fun and fur!
ReplyDelete...farts too. ; )
Happy New Year from the Lair!
ReplyDeleteDragonqueen, Lynx and Leopardess.
The Lair was crowded qwith cats this Yule, since dragonprincess flew South to the Really Bad Weather. She was sensible enough to bring The Other Three back to the Lair.
Maybe the Lair has shrunk, or there are more spacious vistors but there was a shortage of Good places to sleep and foodbowls emptied far too quick.
The Other Three are back in their New Lair, and the furried ones are happy again.
Sounds like a fine day for cats and two legs too.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a Happy New Year darlings. Sorry I have been away so long. I hope all is well and cosy xxx
ReplyDeletewell wht to say but i really want to say tht he sight of the bird near the edge of the table with no cat/dog co-operation at nicking it and heading for cover!! After all, one big bird with two inside...
