It was a day of golden sunshine. All day She had been working, although for a brief time we made a short trip to see the vet. As the afternoon began to pull long shadows from the sun I clawed Her out from Her studio to try and still the yawning and we walked together up the hill, and for the first time Nadolig came too.
Up the hill to the high top where bird shadows chased cloud shadows and Bella and I shared secret thoughts.
And Nadolig loved what he could see, curled up with Her, then followed back down and ate supper in the garden and sat on the windowsill as the sun went down and stars came out to light the night.
The shadowcat has stolen the moon. It will be a dark night tonight.

I love seeing Nadolig welcomed into the herd. I hope Mr. G. is home and doing well.
ReplyDeleteGlyn is still in hospital I am afraid. I have been sending his cards through to him and am told that they cheer his heart. Hoping he will be home soon and I know that Nadolig and all of the Pack and The Pride will be so pleased to see him home.
ReplyDeleteJackdaws are checking out his chimneys for nesting again. Spring is coming.
I hope Glyn will be healed and home soon, and prayed about this.
ReplyDeleteYour post and photos are poetic and I must say, Nadolig has very smart and photogenic markings. The gingers do too, of course, so no jeolousy!
These pictures lift the spirit!

I add my best wishes to Mr. G. I hope he gets well soon.

So glad to see Nadolig part of the group. Your photos just touch the heart. I'm sorry Glyn is in the hospital. I must have missed that information somewhere along the way.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely family-cats are so aware of others needs and feelings-so I am not surprised that Nadolig has been taken into the pride-inspiring images-Angie
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see Nadolig joining you all on the walks. And what a sweet picture of Bella whispering in Pixie's ear! The view from on top of your hills is amazing...a person could stand up there watching the world go about its business for a long time.
ReplyDeleteIt is so very, very good to see the pack and Nadolig. The love and friendship they share warms the heart. As does the sun! Longing for spring...

ReplyDeleteA lovely pic of Bella and Pixie...
Our cat was extraordinarily brave (or lazy)today, not budging from her armchair all the way through a 3 yr olds birthday party!
I am glad Nadolig went for a walk with you, he must be lonely without Mr Griffiths. I hope he got the card I made for him and he is home soon.

Nadolig is a wise cat to join your Ginger family while his friend is away in the hospital. He looks slightly on the edge of the group still, but must be comforted by your care of him.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that Glyn is making a steady recovery and that he will be able to return home.
My much heart felt thanks to you for caring for Nadolig. May Mr Griffiths do better and be able to care for himself again.
ReplyDeleteIt speaks volumes of your goodness that Nadolig is accepted into your family. Such a comfort for Mr G to know you care, I hope he gets well soon.

Lots of love to Mr Griffiths and everyone here wishes him a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteWow, what wonderful pictures of the gang taking good care of Nadolig. I remember thinking about how kindly they seemed to welcome Kiffer when he'd first arrived, and these latest pictures prove what a caring bunch the Morrises* are [2 & 4-legged :-)].
Beautiful photos - Nadolig on the pathway is stunning - truly! What magnificent creatures! Truly... xxx
ReplyDeleteI just love this blog--this was one of my favorites. Thank you.

As always, beautiful pictures...love the intimate closeness of the dogs with the cats and now how Nadolig has entered (literally) into the picture. Until now, I thought that the pictures were perfect with the ginger cats, but when I see the black and white of Nadolig, I realise that finally it isn't just the colour of the cats that 'make' the pictures, but really the eye and skill of the photographer taking the pictures. Always a delight to look at. Thanks for taking care of Nadolig...I'm sure he has thanked you many times, but another thank you doesn't hurt.
ReplyDeleteAll of your photos are great, but Nadolig just touches at my heart.
ReplyDeleteThanks for caring for him & please pass on more get well wishes from Scotland to Glyn.
