Etched out by fire at day's end.

Plotting mischief, in the long grass I wait.

Over the hill we walk, She hobbles. We walk slow so that She can keep up. The evening sun is sinking to the sea.

Foxglove flowers spear the blue sky.

To the top of the rock, so high I climb and then pretend that I cannot get down.

Then together we watch and wait for the sun to sizzle yet again into the sea, and we are dark silhouettes outlined by fire.

  1. I'm glad you were only pretending to be stuck. Imagine if She had had to get a ladder up there, what with a dodgy foot an all.

  11. Watching Kiff get down from the rock was quite a treat. First he went up and up and up as high as he could and then he came down by the way most difficult!
We do not know why She hobbles. Something in her hip we think which then makes all out of line so that ankles hurt and feet. And as for Her mouth, probably it was a rude word that burnt it!

  14. Perhaps you can urge that She goes to the chiropractor to get aching bones back in alignment. Then you could sit with Her for a bit and purr and be comforting until She feels like walking is easier.

my ginger cat rather stays close to the house...I'm starting to suspect her of being a coward - but she's very young, I suppose she will be exploring the countryside later :)
