Early and before the noise makers arrive we headed off and up and over the hill, and the farmyard was full of mud.
On the wall where the violets grow we found none yet, but the dull light made our orange coats glow like the heart of a fire.
The wind was rising as we climbed to the top, new low growing gorse harsh beneath our paws, low cloud, beautiful, like the sheen on old, neglected pearls.
No buds show yet on the twisted weave of the hawthorn tree, planted a century ago by a bird, in a cleft in the rock.
You have the most adventurous cats that I have ever seen! I am so excited to see into their very full lives. Great photos & great captions to go along with them. I LOVE YOUR CATS!!!
ReplyDeleteoh you gingers...you make me want to pack up and take a trip to your home land...it is beautiful there ^..^
ReplyDeleteanxious to see the foals :)
have a fun afternoon hunting and catnapping.
i'm looking forward the first sight of a new foal, myself.
ReplyDeleteThe kitties here would love to go on the same walks as you, but i think they would draw the line at walking through barnyard mud! How nice to see the lambs with their mums, all so interested in the person and cats walking by.
ReplyDeleteGinger darlings indeed. :)What a lovely place they have to play, you don't very often see cats near the sea.x
ReplyDeleteNow that's a fine walk, mud and all - the sheep are beautiful, and Oh! the charm of wild ponies - I too hope we will be able to see a new foal!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
NAL
Every time I see them I think it and it never goes away... what gorgeous cats they are. I do like their plush winter coats too. They must be so much softer with that longer fur.
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely to be your cyber neighbors, sweet gingers....
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to live, with those high wild rocks reaching between sea and sky into the ravelling winds...
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite times of the year when omens of spring begin to steal over the land...
Do please show us those violets when they arrive!:)
It looks like a lovely walk--mud and all. I'm guessing we came home with cold and dirty feet [paws!]
ReplyDeleteWalking with you in my heart.
