Peace

Early morning and now so still. The world is waiting. Across the fields the cathedral bell tolls, sound muffled by the thickness of damp air. Six chimes ring out. Across the sky the beam of the lighthouse sweeps like a cat tail. As yet no birds sing to call the sun to rise and the dark is a texture that brushes face and whiskers like soft silk. No birdsong and no wave sound. It would seem that the sea has taken a vow of silence on this darkest of mornings.
We wish you all peace, joy and fulfillment of dreams. And for cats, a full bowl, a warm fire and a soft lap.

  1. Almost ten of the evening here. A summer storm has traveled over our sky leaving no sign of stars and moon. A lone owl hoots from a nearby tree and caroling crickets rejoice their reply ...

  2. And a very peaceful Christmas to you and yours, too. After you had said that She had been signing books at mr B's in Bath, I hot-footed it over there and bought myself a Christmas present, a signed copy of the Classic Poetry. What an absolute delight it is, she's really clever that human of yours. I hope you let her know it sometimes!!!

  7. A fulfillment and indeed largesse of wonders for you, gingers, dogs and of course, the inestimable Max.

Oh.. and especially a soft and preferably warm lap. I do miss that, a book in my hand, a glass of wine, a cat on my lap and it were paradise enough...

  10. Here, our birds have already sung us awake and we have purred our Provider awake. We sit in the pale light and watch the sun return to us from your quiet shore...it has traces of ginger as it comes through the palms. That pleases us.
Peace and love (and goose!)to you all.
