To sweep away the dust of dreams disturbed we walked in the early morning sunshine.
The farmyard was thick mud, but we danced through the puddles in ginger brightness. In the green lane that leads to the hill top we made a daisy chain of cats.
Over the hill we walked in the wild wind, wolf and cat together. Islands of sunlight shone through thick cloud and a cold wind bent our ears back.
We rested in sheltered green places, emerald and ginger.
And on the Witness Stone on the top of the hill Elmo was splendid in sunshine.
what a great post...love the photo of the three of you walking up the hill ^..^
ReplyDeleteyou are indeed special catkids.
Your photos are wonderful. And you live in such a spectacular place.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore your blog or should I say, the three Gingers and friends blog? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI also envy your lovely cottage and location, may you and yours always be happy and content there.
Now me thinks I should get some rejuvinating sleep and dream of a lovely cottage near the sea, wonder if I could get a nice man in the dream too? Better wear earplugs to cut out the dogs' snoring then! Ha Ha.
The cats usually behave themselves until it's light, then I get a feline dawn chorus...Sandie, Sandies' Patch
Those hilltop shots are lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful "backyard" you have to wander about in!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, you have flowed seamlessly into my mind and memory.
ReplyDeleteThere are few things more splendid than a ginger cat witnessing on a witness stone. I love coming to this blog and reading of your adventures, cats. May you walk in beauty and keep warm in the winter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful colour Elmo looked in that golden light :)
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Bella and Maurice (?) is extraordinary...clearly very good friends, shoulder to shoulder, looking intently and bright eyed at something happening in their world. And the picture of three bright gingers against the green green moss is gorgeous. I'm glad that Elmo doesn't take his kingship too seriously...there he is, handsome as anything, on top of an ancient stone...having a bit of a scratch behind the shoulder with the old hing leg.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! The photos are fabulous :)
ReplyDeleteTails up- Look ahead!
ReplyDeleteFunny- my cats do the same thing down the hall at breakfast time-looking over their shoulder(s) to make sure I am at the end of the trail.... somebody has to be able to open the can!
The Gingers have beautiful markings! Love the pictures...
Thank you for sharing.
Dear darling Gingers....I always enjoy going with you on your walks, in the pictures. Your country is so wild and beautiful, just right for a cat. Wish I could visit you, but at least I can see it all in your photos.
ReplyDeleteI love your little poetic prose about the stars in the night. yes, how does the star cat do that? He's a very great and wonderful cat for sure!
