Sunshine weekend and in between painting dragons we have to take the puppy out walking. Overcome by the cuteness of the puppy ("can't see it myself'"said Maurice through sharp gritted teeth) She has decided to write a puppy book. So with notebook in hand we went off into the fields. But the day was so busy and people kept walking past and stopping to chat.
" You look like St Francis surrounded by gentle animals," one lady said.

but, Mine says, surely the old bald monk once was a lively young man (as played by Graham Faulkner in Brother Sun, Sister Moon). . .?

Um, coul' you maybe wride a cadbook forst???
ReplyDeleteWhad weell the Geengers say?!
I am so jealous of those walkers, getting to meet the fabulous Maurice by chance. He's good at training strange humans too.
ReplyDeleteRosie is very cute, love the nose covered in sand!! Can't wait for the doggy book with Rosie... Sit Here with Rosie, perhaps?
The flowerdragon is utterly wonderful, so beautifully done. I wish I could write as well as you illustrate. I don't think anyone is going to mistake a talented illustrator with an old bald monk somehow!!
Also, I don't think St Francis was much good at drawing, so not like you really.
Oh dear. Now She has gone off searching the net and has bought the Brother Sun, Sister Moon film. Ah well, we will all enjoy watching this together by the fire in winter.
ReplyDeleteNice sandy nose, Rosie.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great dragon painting...... love it.
ReplyDeleteAnd little Rosie going for cute with her dirty nose...hahhahahha
I love your artwork, came across your blog and your work through Rima. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat could be cuter than a sandy-nosed puppy!
ReplyDeleteI love the sandy nose! I keep passing on your blog to my friends, I'm surprised the server hasn't melted down. I LOVE the ginger kids!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful dragon painting, and another photo of the charming Rosie...can't get better than that!
ReplyDeleteThat is one adorable little doggy. Makes me want to rush out and get one for myself (and my husband). Better not tell Gilbert, Blanche, Daisy and Red!
ReplyDeleteKat
P.S. It's the Feast of St. Francis on Saturday. You can take your animals to be blessed.
She is quite funny, with her "old bald monk" comment.
ReplyDeleteDoes she read these posts, or only the ginger cats?
I love her paintings of the snow leopards and now of the dragons.
Hello & Meow to you gingers from Jolie and Bigboy way over here in California.
The gingers read the comments to me at bed time. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteLove from the one the cats dragged in!
