Raven flew on soot black wings
Feathers made gold by slant of morning sun.
High she flew,
Stole the half moon
From the clear sky,
And wore it as a glint
In her sharp, round eye.
For
"Branches Up, Roots Down" from the land of ravens and cats. And for Brigid and The Morrigan.
Gorgeous! Imbolc Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful poem and painting. What a treasure you blog is for me. It reminds me of all that I love and hold dear in connecting with the sea/land/wind/birds....coastal walks....while I am 'snug as a bug' in this moment...in the middle of London... I sometimes feel lost in all this stone and concrete and the silent noise of people's thoughts clammering for attention and expression.
ReplyDeleteThankyou.
I, too, thank you for this blissful haven. How wonderful to be a ginger cat who can prowl the braken with loved ones close by. My ginger fur soaks up the sunshine as I catch it in the window...
