- When first we started there were four of us, all ginger, and Max. Time has passed. The ginger pride are ghost cats, appart from Elmo. Now the house holds Max, oldest, tabby farm cat, dark, usually found sleeping on a cushion, Elmo, last of the Gingers, beautiful handsome and wonderful who still walks to the high hill top. And now there is Baggage and Bundle, silver mischief in sharp clawed kitten form. The adventures continue.

I'm so glad my home isn't the only one where kitties help with cooking! We often joke around here that the unfortunate pile of critters on the front stoop is the hopeful contribution to the evening stew. Perchance a shrew stew this evening, Valerianna?

Looks as if several of us saw the same thing here: Good company in a friend who puts up with kitties on the counter. At our house there's a corner of the counter where the cats' bowls are because the dogs would get their food if it wasn't out of reach. I used to apologize to squeamish guests but now, it's OUR kitchen and if you don't like the setup, bye-bye.
It seems that I am in good company with cats who parade around the counters and sit on the table.
It is very difficult to explain to visitors who think cats [if they must be in the house at all] belong on the floor!

We love the photo in this post and also in the previous posting. Since dad is the photographer in this house, he wanted to tell you that even though they are dark, he feels they remind him of Rembrandt's painting.

My kitties understand "Get down" perfectly well. What they don't understand is why I think it should apply to them -- especially since I rarely cook anyway.
Dark chocolate mouse cake...mmmm...although the cats would probably prefer a lighter grey or brown mouse cake...
