Fire cats, fire dogs.
Dancing firecat of ginger flames warms the house once again. So good, so warm. Outside a wren shouts at the dark bruised sky. It has been a day of rainbows and the world shines like a wet pebble. Beautiful. We are warm.
They do love the warmth of the fire don't they. We are waiting with a bare hearth for our new wood burner to arrive and my ginger one keeps looking sadly at the empty space, and wondering where the warm thing has gone? Do you find ginger cats feel the cold more than others? Mine definitely does :)
So wonderful that the fire has now been lit... a comfort to dogs and cats, reminding them why they chose to live with humans so many aeons ago, and a comfort to humans as well.
They're both out again tonight so we've nabbed the laptop.
We've ordered ourselves half a dozen mice, a canary and nearly half a kilo of cat nip.
We may be havin a party later or maybe at the weekend if they go out again. Serves him right for leavin his credit card lying oot.
We started watchin 'cat on a hot tin roof' on DVD but it wiz pure rubbish by the way.
How's Maurice doing?
Hope your keepin' away from them smug drugglin' badgers too.
Well done on the old fire influencing trick. Our keeper here isn't taking the hint and keeps putting on more jumpers and grumping but we have printed off thirty copies of your fire photos and stuck them up aboot the hoose.
Hope he gets the message....
Otherwise we're gonny make this place furball city.
Its a catastrophy here.
You guys have got it easy. What's the secret - have you found something to catmail them with?
oops - thats the car comin up the drive...........
When first we started there were four of us, all ginger, and Max. Time has passed. The ginger pride are ghost cats, appart from Elmo. Now the house holds Max, oldest, tabby farm cat, dark, usually found sleeping on a cushion, Elmo, last of the Gingers, beautiful handsome and wonderful who still walks to the high hill top. And now there is Baggage and Bundle, silver mischief in sharp clawed kitten form. The adventures continue.

So glad you are all warm. I hope it is the kind of fire that will stay on when you have to be away. It is dreary to return to a cold house.

I had my gas fireplace on due to it getting colder. My Purr & Fur Gang were all sitting by it.

I gard no fire...
Nothing beats a fire's glow!
We awoke to a blanket of white today. The wee ones are digging out their snow boots and the PM wants to cry. The season has arrived.

A picture of perfect contentment with your description that warmed me :) ~ER~
Lovely as usuall. We must get wood in soon. It is still a little warm for fireplaces here, but not for long.

Our cats have now made a committee decision to be House Cats at night again - so autumn has truly arrived.
That's a lovely looking wood burner! Just the thing for the colder days ahead :)x
Kitties, I have given you an award (via Jackie)...
