Outside the earth is hard as iron. The water pools are thick with ice and ring like bells when the two legs throw stones at them. White crystals of ice paint the landscape in winter colours and the sky seems bleached. It is cold.

Ahhhh... The dreaming taking place!
Has anyone told you lately just how beautiful the 3 of you are?
Happy New Years to all the beautiful cats, dogs, horses, and asorted animals!
Here it has been warmer with a skim of mud on top of the bare ground. The wind has boomed and wailed knocking out the electric several times. A tree splintered and crashed outside the window--the tree which held the bird feeders. I have to find a new place to hang the feeders, within sight of the cats who line up on the windowsills.
We have cat "squash" here also--three to a basket or confrontations as to who will have the soft chair in the sunshine.
The ginger boy on the mantle looks just like my Arthur, who although only two years old, sleeps about twenty hours a day. I wish I could sleep so comfortably. :)
Love the photos of Rosie too. She reminds me of our Border Collie Sundance, who passed two years ago, and who I still paint sometimes.
A Happy New Year to you and yours!
~ Carolee
Indeed, as only cats can! And they look beautiful as well as comfortable.
Hi Ginger Cats and Family we want to wish you all a Happy New Year & A Prosperous 2009! We don't know if we have met before, but we are very pleased to meet you!
Your FL furiends,
That cat is a basket case!
Indeed Mr Kiffer is a bit of a basket case. We are thinking of giving him a name change as his movements are so like Captain Jack Sparrow.
Meanwhile Hannah told Her that Elmo has been ice skating on the frozen pond. Naughty cat!
Captain Jack Sparrow would be quite a good name for Mr Kiffer! all the women cats will swoon (and look for his eye liner *g*). Best wishes to you all for an excellent new year, many comfy baskets to sleep in, warm hearths to bask by, good food and good friends.
