Beautiful sofa - a lovely contrast to your floof. And you are so good setting about enhancing it wiv ginger floof straight away - it will look even nicer!
I am a ginger one too. Glad to discover you! I was three years on Sunday in this life plane, but really I am much older. I came because my human really needed a companion. I can't wait to have a look through your writings.
It does indeed look cold there. Here, it will be 40C today. I will probably spend most of the day in the closet - most likely asleep. It's the only thing to do in the heat. I'll bet back to you in a few days.
You are brave to have a new sofa for the cats. We sold a house several years ago and decided to replace an old couch with a leather loveseat--theory being that leather would stand up to inspired leaps and skidding of cats. The loveseat has acquired a definitely scarred and abused look. I have never thought it would be kind to declaw a cat--their claws are part of being catly. The painting behind the sofa is lovely--is it a night heron?
Ah! yes, we gingers (and blackies!)have a sure eye for complementary colours. Our suite is pale yellow and The Woman keeps loose covers in white or blue. All for our benefit!
Oh I could pick him/her up and give him a cuddle! My cat does not give cuddles, even though he is very friendly, but he has to sleep on my propped up legs with his tail in my face. The heron painting is gorgeous. It deserves a post by itself. We have night egrets that settle down like that and have a wicked cackle. But I've only ever seen our blue herons standing tall and usually with a crest
When first we started there were four of us, all ginger, and Max. Time has passed. The ginger pride are ghost cats, appart from Elmo. Now the house holds Max, oldest, tabby farm cat, dark, usually found sleeping on a cushion, Elmo, last of the Gingers, beautiful handsome and wonderful who still walks to the high hill top. And now there is Baggage and Bundle, silver mischief in sharp clawed kitten form. The adventures continue.

Ah yes, it's important when you get a new sofa, to see if it will fit with the colours of cats!
Nice.
Orange and blue make a lovely combination. Pretty soon that blue sofa will have wonderful orange patches all over.
Purrs Goldie (deciding he now needs a nice blue sofa)
awww Pixie looks so lovely on the new blue sofa...probably won't stay blue for long!

What an utterly perfect picture. But then it does have an utterly perfect cat in it.
Nice colour co-ordination.

painting in the background is a grey heron, watercolour on a gold leaf background. We think it looks a lot like Her.
Tell Her that this photo shows her Eye for composition.
