Too late now we say thank you to Oliver Postgate, for all the stories, for making such a good cat with Bagpuss, for being so brave as to swim against the current and stand up for what you believed. You filled many childhoods with peace and colour and laughter. What could be better than that.

Puppy also asleep, after ransacking the shoe cupboard, which was left open, and chewing my daughter's favourite slippers....

A great shame, even at 83 he's a loss to us. I still remember, Bagpuss (he was a baggy, saggy cloth cat and Emily loved him), Noggin the Nog (and Graculus), Ivor the Engine, the Clangers and didn't he do the Herb Garden too?

ps~ today is our anniversary in cat blogging. We have been doing it for a year now and we would have never had started if it hadn't been for Her kind words. Please give her a thank you head rub from us please.
What a loss.
It is very sad to say goodbye to such a talented man who swam against the mainstream.
His work with with Peter Firmin has had such a influence on me.
We didn't know about him. He is on our wishlist. It is always sad when good people leave forever.

It is a sad loss, but what gifts he gave to so many. Our Mum met him once in the course of her work, he was humble but had a cheeky, friendly manner to him. He also made an excellent cup of tea.
