Long grass, sunshine and sea.
It was warm in the sheltered places but a north wind blows cold today and wrinkles the surface of the sea. Over the high rock and down through the long grass there are daisies. Daisy, a beautiful flower named simply as "the day's eye" because they open to look at the sun and shut their eyes to the moon.
In the long grass field I chased the dog, down to the sea.

Daisies and Dogs, all in all it looks like a fine day out.
As ever, we're jealous.
Despite some bookcase climbing here we're stumped on the arctic butterfly of fourteen year life-cycle fame. A mythical butterfly or not, we'd love to learn more...
"Four Wings and a Prayer -Caught in the mystery of the Monarch Butterfly ", by Sue Halpern, is one butterfly book favourite here.
Also, " Butterfly Cooing Like a Dove", By Miriam Rothschild. Yes, those Rothschilds. But, she studied insects with some scientific vigour, and this is a bizare and wonderful book too, we think.
Side-reading certainly perhaps, but if you had time, we think you may enjoy.
Beautiful seaside photos, only made even better with cats...
I like the first picture. Cats do love to be at high places, looking down at everyone.
Guess what? My very most favorite flower is the daisy! Because they are such a pretty and happy flower. Oh, and because it's my name, too.
What a gweat day you had.
What is it like to be friends with a dog? The last time a dog visited my house, I was hiding up stairs in the back bedroom. I was scared of the big golden dog.
We have lots of dog friends. Bella is our best dog friend though and she was always good to us when we were small. Pixie always saves her a bit of cat food and they eat a little together. We will do a posting of some of our dog friends. There is Weasel and Billy, the long and the tall, and Pitta and Larry who's tail is such a wonderful toy.
We sometimes meet dogs when we walk and have been very lucky never yet to meet a bad dog. Bad dogs are dangerous. They chase and kill cats. We do not like them.
Larry was once a bad dog, though he did not kill cats, just chased after them, but we taught him some manners.
